Teams and Outlook profile picture guide
Microsoft Teams and Outlook profile picture: how to change it
In Teams, select your picture at the top right, select it again, choose Upload, then Save; in Outlook, select your picture to open your profile card and update it there. Microsoft publishes no size; our advice is a square of at least 1080 × 1080 px, face centred, on a plain background. For a whole team, AwaCut puts every face on the same colour at once, offline.
2 computers per licence. Full refund within 14 days, no reason needed.

Pick a photo you would use at work
Head and shoulders, good light, what you wear to meetings. The meeting room behind you is about to go.
Cut yourself out with AwaCut
Drop the photo into AwaCut and choose Custom, then type a colour such as #E0E7FF, a light indigo. You get the same photo on a plain background, at its full size, in about 4 seconds on a Mac Studio (M4 Max). For a whole team, drop the folder.
Upload it in Teams or Outlook
In Teams on a computer: select your picture at the top right, select it again, Upload, Save. On an iPhone: tap your picture, your name, Update photo. On Android: More, your picture, Edit image. It can take a while to show everywhere.

The finished work picture
The AwaCut cutout on light indigo (Custom, #E0E7FF), cropped square. Calm, clear in a chat list, and the same colour can go behind the whole team.
Check it small

The same picture as a circle at 110 px, about the size on a profile page, and at 40 px, the size beside a comment or a message. The face still reads at both, because it fills the frame and the background is plain.

Three mistakes on work profile pictures
Every colleague on a different background
A team page of kitchens, cars and holidays looks unplanned. One shared colour fixes it.
Uploading again too soon
Microsoft says the picture can take time to update everywhere. Wait before trying again.
A face too small
In a Teams chat list the picture is a few millimetres wide. Crop to head and shoulders.
The whole team on one background
This is where AwaCut pays off most: collect everyone's photo, drop the folder in, set one Custom colour, and every person comes back on the same background, ready for Teams and Outlook. It runs on your computer, so staff photos never go to a server, and there are no credits: as many photos as you want, all year.
Try it on your own photos: the first 10 are free, no account.
