How to put product photos on a pure white background
Marketplaces like Amazon ask for the main product photo on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255). AwaCut removes the original background and places every product on pure white in one export, for a whole folder at once, on your own computer. You can also pick any other color, or keep a transparent PNG to place on your own backdrop later.

1. Add the folder
Drag the folder with your product photos into AwaCut. Every photo is queued and cut out on your computer, with nothing uploaded.
2. Choose White
Pick White in the export settings. It is pure white, the exact value marketplaces check for. For a different look, choose any custom color instead.
3. Export JPG or PNG
Export JPG for marketplace listings, where white is the background anyway, or PNG if you want lossless files. The whole folder comes out on the same white, consistent across the catalog.
What the main marketplaces ask for
| Marketplace | Background | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon | Pure white (255, 255, 255) required for the main image | The product should fill about 85% of the frame; AwaCut does not crop, so frame your shot accordingly. |
| eBay | White or a light neutral background recommended | A clean background makes the item easier to see in search results. |
| Etsy | No required color | A consistent background across your listings makes the shop look coherent. |
Rules change; check each marketplace's current image guidelines before you upload.
Three reasons a white background does not look white
Shooting on white paper
A white sheet photographs as light gray with shadows. Removing the background and placing the product on true white gives you the clean white a camera rarely does.
Expecting the floor shadow to stay
The cutout removes the ground and the shadow on it, so the product sits on clean white without a floor shadow. That is what most marketplace main images look like.
A different white on every photo
Editing photos one by one leads to slightly different whites across the catalog. One setting for the whole folder keeps every image on exactly the same white.
Why do it for the whole folder at once
A catalog is dozens or hundreds of photos that should all look the same. Doing them one at a time online costs a credit per image and invites inconsistency. AwaCut applies the same white to every photo in the folder, on your computer, for a flat $29 per year.
Is AwaCut's white background pure white?
Yes. White is RGB 255, 255, 255, the value Amazon asks for on the main image.
Can I use a color other than white?
Yes. Choose a custom color in the export settings and the whole folder is exported on it, or keep a transparent PNG to place on any backdrop.
Does AwaCut keep the shadow under the product?
No. The cutout separates the product from the ground and its shadow, so the result is the product on clean white, without a floor shadow.
Does AwaCut center or crop the product for Amazon?
No. AwaCut keeps the original framing and size. Shoot so the product fills most of the frame, and the export keeps that composition.
