What you need
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later), macOS 13.4 or newer.
Intel Macs are not supported: AwaCut is built for Apple silicon.
Install it
- 1Download the .dmg file.
- 2Open it and drag AwaCut into Applications.
- 3Start AwaCut. It is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app.
How it runs on your computer
The AI model ships inside the app and runs on the processor, so no graphics card is needed and no photo is uploaded. On a recent Apple silicon Mac it takes about 3 seconds per image; older or slower computers take longer. The licence covers 2 computers in any mix of macOS, Windows and Linux.

Does AwaCut need a graphics card?
No. Background removal runs on the processor. A faster processor finishes a folder sooner, but any 64-bit computer that meets the requirements works.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. Processing and exporting work offline. The licence is activated online once and rechecked about every 30 days, with a two-week grace period when you are offline.
Can I use one licence on Mac and on another system?
Yes. One licence activates on 2 computers, in any mix of macOS, Windows and Linux.
