Drag the folder onto the AwaCut window, or press Add Folder. Every image inside is queued and processed one after another, and you can leave it running.
Add Images picks individual files instead, and you can select as many as you like in the dialog. Folders and loose files sit in the same queue.
Nothing is uploaded. The images are read from your disk, processed on your own processor, and written back through Export to Folder, to the folder you choose.
Set the background to Alpha and the format to PNG. Alpha is what the app calls a transparent background, and that pair is what produces a real alpha channel, the kind that stays see-through when you drop the cutout onto another colour. In a translated interface the button reads Alfa.
JPG cannot store transparency at all. If Alpha is selected, AwaCut switches the format back to PNG and disables JPG rather than silently flattening your cutout onto white. WebP does support transparency and produces much smaller files, which is what you want for a web shop.
The background control offers White, Beige, Gray and Studio as presets, and Custom for any colour you like. Whichever you pick applies to every image in the queue, so a whole catalogue comes out on exactly the same background.
Outline adds a border in white or a colour of your choice, with adjustable thickness. It is the sticker look, and it is applied at export time.
Changing the background or the format re-exports what is already in the queue. You do not need to run the batch again.
PNG, WebP and JPG. PNG and WebP keep transparency; JPG does not and is only offered when the background is not transparent.
Cutouts are written at the original dimensions of the photo you fed in. The segmentation model works at a fixed internal size and the resulting matte is scaled back up to your image, so a 4000 pixel photo comes out 4000 pixels wide.
Fine detail such as hair, fur, lace and wire is where any background remover is weakest, and where the subject separates poorly from a background of a similar colour or brightness. A photo of a white shoe on a white sheet is the hard case.
The most reliable fix is at the camera, not in software: put visible separation between the subject and whatever is behind it. Failing that, feed in the largest version of the photo you have rather than a downscaled copy.
