How to make stickers from photos

How to make stickers with Cricut: die-cut tips
Three things that decide how a sheet of die-cut stickers turns out.
Clear edges, and the sticker border hides the rest
Pick photos where the edge of the subject is sharp. A small flaw along it ends up under the white border anyway.
One sticker outline for the whole sheet
Keep one border for the whole sheet: a single Outline setting for the folder gives every sticker the same line width.
Die cut or kiss cut: the border is the cut line
Cricut Print Then Cut and Silhouette's trace both follow the outer edge of a transparent PNG, so the white border you set in AwaCut is where the blade goes.
Why not a web tool or Cricut Access?
Many web tools charge per image or in credits, and Cricut's automatic background remover needs a Cricut Access subscription (its manual tools are free, one image at a time). Does AwaCut export PNGs with real transparency for print and cut?
Yes: Alpha exports are true alpha-channel PNGs at the original resolution, ready for Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio or any sticker template. No painted-on checkerboard, no white box around your subject.
Can I make sticker sheets in bulk?
Yes: drop the folder with every design and all of them are cut out automatically, about 4 seconds each on a Mac Studio (M4 Max), offline. A full sheet, a shop update or a seasonal collection costs nothing extra: the licence stays flat at $29 per year.
Do I need Cricut Access to remove backgrounds?
Not with AwaCut. In Cricut Design Space the automatic background remover is part of Cricut Access, while the manual tools are free but work one image at a time. AwaCut cuts out whole folders on your computer for a flat $29 per year, and works with any cutting machine, or none at all.
Can I make pet stickers from my photos?

Yes. AwaCut runs on macOS 13.4 or later (Apple silicon), Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and Linux, and one licence covers 2 computers. Background removal runs on the computer itself, so it works offline too.
Will my stickers print sharp?
The cutout keeps the size of your photo: a 4,000 pixel photo comes back 4,000 pixels wide, border included, and nothing is downscaled. How sharp the print is then depends on the photo you start from.
Do I need a cutting machine?
No. Print the PNGs on sticker paper with any printer and cut along the white border by hand, or send them to Cricut, Silhouette or a print shop. The border is the same line either way.
