AwaCut for jewelry photos

Remove backgrounds from jewelry photos without losing the chain

Jewelry is the hardest test for any background remover: chains a few pixels wide, reflective metal, stones that borrow color from the scene. AwaCut runs a full-size segmentation model (BiRefNet) on your own computer, so thin links and clasps survive the cutout, and the whole collection processes in one drop.

Web tools struggle here for a structural reason: to keep server costs down they run smaller models and downscale your photo before cutting, which is exactly what erases chains and prongs. AwaCut has no server bill, so it runs the full model at full resolution, for every image in the folder.

  1. Drop the folder in

Drag the whole folder into AwaCut. Hundreds of images queue at once, about 5 seconds each, all processed on your computer, offline.

  2. Pick one background for the whole batch

Alpha for transparent PNGs, or white, beige, gray and studio looks. One setting applies to every image, so the whole batch comes out consistent.

  3. Verify, export, done

Check any cutout with the before/after slider, then export the folder as PNG, WEBP or JPG, at the original resolution.

What matters for these photos

  • Shoot on a backdrop that contrasts with the metal: warm gold separates best from cool, uncluttered backgrounds.

  • Check the chain and the clasp first with the before/after slider: if those survive, the rest of the photo is safe.

  • Export PNG on Alpha for composites, or the White background for marketplace listings; change your mind later and everything re-exports in place.

Can AI remove the background from jewelry photos with thin chains?

Yes, when the model is big enough. AwaCut ships BiRefNet, a state-of-the-art open segmentation model, and runs it at full resolution on your computer, which is what preserves chains, prongs and ear wires. The trial includes 10 free images, so test it on your hardest piece first.

What background works best for jewelry listings?

Marketplaces favor clean white; editorial shots often use beige or studio gray. AwaCut composites every cutout onto white, beige, gray or studio backgrounds with one click, consistently across the batch, and you can re-export on a different background any time.

How do I remove the background from 100 jewelry photos at once?

Drag the folder into AwaCut: every image queues automatically at about 5 seconds each, offline. There are no credits and no upload queue, so 100 photos cost exactly what 1 costs: nothing beyond the flat 29 USD per year.
